Roof Inspection Assurance™

If we can’t walk the roof, we will carefully inspect it with a drone (FAA Airspace Permitting). If it is raining or the roof is covered in snow on the day of your inspection, we will come back to complete the roof inspection. Contact us for details.

It could be argued that the roof is one of the most important components of a home. However, due to steep roof pitches or materials that should not be walked on, it is often inspected only from the ground or a ladder. To overcome this critical limitation, we are FAA Licensed Commercial Drone Pilots. We carefully inspect every roof up close either by walking the roof, or when that is not possible with a camera drone (FAA Airspace Permitting).

Did You Know?

The average cost to replace an asphalt shingle roof in the United States is approximately $8,000.

Infrared Thermography Included

When it comes to giving you a thorough inspection, we pull out all the stops. When combined with moisture meters and knowledgeable inspectors, thermal imaging can reveal problems you could not see with the naked eye. We wouldn’t inspect without it.

A thermal imaging camera is just one of the modern tools we use in our inspections. In addition, we test for gas leaks, check CO2 levels near the water heater and furnace, and use moisture meters to check areas of suspected water leaks. It’s all included as part of our standard inspection service.

Did You Know?

Infrared is not X-ray. It is really a visual thermometer. This allows the inspector to see areas of differing temperature. Sometimes dark spots can indicate moisture, but most of the time they indicate differences in temperature due to varying levels of insulation or other thermal factors.

Radon is a Real Health Threat

We know that Real Estate transactions are time sensitive. We offer 48 hour Radon tests performed with the latest Continuous Radon Monitoring equipment. We are NRPP Certified.

The EPA recommends that every home in the U.S. be tested for Radon. Radon is present in nearly every part of the U.S., however some areas have higher concentrations of Radon than others. Click the link below to visit the EPA’s Radon map.

Did You Know?

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. after smoking.

Keeping Safe During COVID

Normally, we would always want you to accompany us on our inspection. However, we know that these are unusual times. So, we have adapted to be able to bring you our same high level of service without the risks of meeting in person.

We take the health and safety of our clients and inspectors seriously. However, we do not want you to feel that you did not get the same high level of service and interaction just because we can’t meet in person. Contact us today to discover how we are using technology to deliver the closest thing to being there in person.

Jason performed a radon test at my house. Jason was very informative, answered my questions, and provided excellent service. He practiced COVID safety protocols, always wearing a mask. He even put on shoe booties before coming into the house, very nice. The report was detailed and included several other documents to provide more information about radon.

Jason performed radon testing for us. We were very satisfied with the quality of his work. Very professional, followed all COVID protocols, explained what he was going to do, and was on time for initial test and followup test. His reports were very helpful about the dangers of radon and what our options were. We would use him again and would recommend his firm to anyone.

Jason Lange was highly recommended to us recently. Can't say enough about how satisfied my wife and I are about the expert service we received. Jason is polite and very knowledgeable. He practiced Covid safety by wearing a mask at all times while in our home. He,also, puts on shoe covers which protected our carpet. In getting to know Jason we discovered he has extensive experience in home building. He checked our furnace room and our crawl space while in our home at no extra charge even though he was only here to do a Radon test. We heartily recommend First Summit Home Inspections without reservation. Thanks Jason, Tim and Debra Specht
